Shame on me. But – I had to get through my maternity leave. I also returned to my ‘day-job’ in early January. I gave my notice and am now a FULL-TIME PHOTOGRAPHER and stay at home mom. This has to be the happiest, yet scariest time in my life. It was ultimately what I wanted… to be my own boss at something I loved while creating my own hours… Yada Yada Yada… I got it… it’s here. I am just so thankful. For many things. Including this little guy!

I’ve finally emerged from the hell best described as the first trimester. I’ve finally gotten over the nausea and exhaustion and now have just become uncomfortable… Already. I am starting to cut back on my long hours and have started limiting my sessions per week. I have also started booking into July and August. If you are wanting to take family pictures this summer or fall, please call or email me to schedule your appointment as soon as possible. I am currently planning on shooting until the end of October. I’m due early November and plan to take some time off (at least 6 weeks) after that to take care of the little one. November, you say? Yes, that is usually my busiest time because of the holidays! I suggest scheduling early if you’d like to take holiday portraits…. especially those for Christmas cards!!!

Unless anything changes (like the doctor ordering bedrest), I plan to schedule into October for normal shoots. This does not count weddings as I’m no longer booking weddings for 2009. Family portraits can be rescheduled in case of an emergency… wedding portraits cannot. :)

And since no blog post is good without a picture… Here are several from my ultrasound taken on Friday.
